Anderson Primary School E-Waste Tour @Redux SG

Event Date: October 21, 2026

Anderson Primary School Explores E-Waste Recycling and Sustainability Careers at REDUX.

At REDUX SG, we believe that sustainability education starts with the next generation.

On 21 October 2026, we welcomed 25 Primary 6 students from Anderson Primary School to our facility for an educational visit focused on responsible e-waste management, recycling and resource recovery.

Through three interactive learning stations, students gained first-hand exposure to recycling operations while discovering the importance of sustainability and potential career pathways within the industry.

Station 1: Factory Explorers: Discover Recycling in Action!

Students toured our solar panel recycling facility and learned about the importance of properly managing end-of-life solar panels.

At REDUX, our specialised recycling processes help recover valuable materials such as glass, aluminium and silicon, reducing waste and supporting the circular economy.

Students also observed how forklifts are used for material handling and how materials are weighed during recycling operations, gaining a better understanding of the processes involved in responsible recycling.

Station 2: Dismantle, Sort & Discover!

Through hands-on activities, students explored how electronic devices are dismantled and how different components are separated, sorted and weighed for recycling.

They discovered that discarded electronics contain valuable materials, including metals and plastics, which can be recovered and given a new purpose instead of being disposed of as waste.

Station 3: Destroy the Data!

What happens to the information stored inside old electronic devices?

Students were introduced to three methods of secure data destruction: crushing, degaussing and shredding. Through demonstrations, they learned how sensitive information can be securely destroyed before equipment proceeds to further recycling or disposal.

Safety remained a priority throughout the visit, with students receiving safety guidance and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) during facility activities.

Inspiring Future Sustainability Professionals

Beyond recycling awareness, the visit introduced students to potential career pathways in engineering, environmental management, recycling operations and data security.

Through hands-on activities and facility tours, students gained first-hand exposure to how these industries operate, connecting classroom learning with real-world sustainability practices.

A big thank you to Anderson Primary School for visiting REDUX!

At REDUX, we believe that environmental education plays an important role in inspiring the next generation. Through initiatives like this, we hope to nurture curiosity, promote responsible recycling practices and encourage young learners to explore future opportunities in the sustainability industry.
