Solar Panel Recycling

End-to-end solar panel recycling solutions

Singapore’s solar adoption continues to grow rapidly. As of the first half of 2025, the country recorded 12,188 grid-connected solar PV installations, with total installed capacity reaching 1,775.4 MWp as at the end of Q2 2025, according to the Energy Market Authority.

As more systems are upgraded or reach end-of-life, responsible, traceable management of retired solar panels becomes an increasingly urgent priority— especially for land-scarce Singapore.

At REDUX, we provide end-to-end solar panel recycling solutions designed not only for compliant disposal, but to deliver measurable circularity outcomes and carbon impact reporting.
Championing Solar Panel Recycling for greener future. Where innovation meets sustainability.

Our Milestones

24 Nov 2025

Project SolaREV Launch — officiated by SMS Low Yen Ling

Our advanced solar panel recycling line was officially launched with Senior Minister of State, Ms Low Yen Ling as Guest-of-Honour. In her address, she underscored that as solar deployment grows, Singapore must also strengthen capabilities to manage panels responsibly at end-of-life, because sending more solar waste to landfill “is not a sustainable option” for a land-scarce Singapore.

Our Current Capability (Project SolaREV)

REDUX is part of Project SolaREV, described at launch as Singapore’s first integrated solar panel recycling ecosystem, combining recovery, engineering and verification to enable traceable material recovery such as glass, and silicon and copper through an automated process designed for higher throughput.

Crystalline-silicon PV panels only

Singapore collection / Singapore projects only

Our facility is designed to:

1
Process up to ~36,000 panels per year (≈18 panels/hour, depending on panel condition and input mix)
1 %
Recover, recycle and reuse up to 96% of each panel (target/aim, dependent on panel design and condition).

Support sustainability outcomes through transparent documentation and reporting, aligned to clients’ ESG and circularity requirements.

Growing Demand for Recycling Photovoltaic (PV) Panels

Globally, end-of-life PV volumes are expected to rise significantly through 2050, and recycling is increasingly important to recover finite resources and reduce lifecycle impacts. (Source: IRENA)

In Singapore, solar deployment has already surpassed 1.7 GWp of installed capacity, and national targets are tracking toward at least 2 GWp before 2030.

How much CO₂e can be reduced by recycling 1 ton of solar panels?

global warming potential (GWP)

Studies indicate that recycling 1 ton of crystalline-silicon PV panels can avoid roughly 800–1,200 kgCO₂e (GWP) compared with producing panels from primary materials (actual results vary by panel type, recycling route, and system boundary).

Measuring What Matters: Sustainability Reporting

We believe sustainability claims should be backed by evidence. For every recycling project, REDUX provides a reporting pack that helps clients support ESG disclosures and internal governance.

The reporting pack includes:

Weights received

How much material/panels/waste was collected

Processing summary

What recycling or treatment process was performed

Recovered fractions

Materials successfully recovered (e.g. glass, aluminium, silicon, metals)

What we provide:

  • Recycling Report
  • Recycling Certificate
  • Carbon Impact Report (CIR)

Solar Panel Recycling Services

1. Collection & Receipt

REDUX coordinate collection within Singapore and manage controlled receipt of panels, including basic intake checks and documentation for traceability.

2. Dismantling & Material Separation

Panels are processed through a structured workflow to separate and recover key material streams, supporting circular downstream use. Typical recovered fractions include:

  • Aluminium (frames)
  • Glass fractions (e.g., chips / cullet / fines
  • depending on processing route)
  • Silicon-containing fractions
  • Junction box and wiring

3. Precious Metals Potential (via downstream recovery)

Solar panels may contain valuable metals (e.g., copper, silver). Where feasible, recovered fractions can be routed for downstream recovery to reduce reliance on virgin resources.

4. Traceability & Documentation

REDUX maintain documentation to support auditability and sustainability reportingso clients can demonstrate responsible end-of-life management.

5. Carbon Footprint Reduction & Reporting (CIR)

REDUX quantify the carbon emissions avoided of responsible recycling through our Carbon Impact Report (CIR), giving clients clear metrics to communicate and report.

Operational Controls & Safety

REDUX processes are managed under documented SOPs and operational controls aligned with ISO-based management system practices and MOM workplace safety and health (WSH) requirements, with a focus on safe handling, housekeeping, and risk-controlled operations.
Who we support:

  • Commercial & industrial solar asset owners
  • Building owners and facility managers
  • Solar developers and EPCs (end-of-life / repowering projects)
  • O&M providers supporting replacement programmes

Impacting the World, One Solar Panel at a Time

With REDUX, solar panel recycling is more than just waste management. It’s a commitment to sustainability. Our processes recover finite resources, reduce the need for raw material mining, and significantly cut down on carbon emissions. By recycling with us, every solar panel contributes to a cleaner, greener Earth, helping reduce landfill waste, conserve precious materials, and power the circular economy.

Join Us in Saving the Planet

At REDUX, we’re shaping the future of solar panel recycling. Let us turn yesterday’s panels into tomorrow’s possibilities. Together, we can make a world of difference.
